I sincerely believe that money is the root of all evil. Just yesterday I saw a twenty dollar bill rob this poor old lady on the street. No, no that was a criminal seeking to acquire money the only way he knows how. Oh I have a good one, money is the root of all evil because it convinces people with its telekinetic powers of persuasion (as we all know that money hasn’t the faculties for traditional communication) that the only way to attain it is to lie, cheat and steal. Yes, that has to be it!
While money is in print a demonic force imprints itself into our currency and that is where money gets its power. Hmm this reason isn’t believable either, is it? L I guess it still comes back to plain old human choice, damn it!
So, if it is human choice that determines the use or reaction to money, then where did this notion that money is evil come from? Are we so afraid to take responsibility for our actions that we use inanimate objects as our scapegoats? “It wasn’t me that killed him, it was the gun and bullet, I swear it!”
Money has no feelings or choice; it is just attracted to those who are harmony with it. Think of money like an inanimate magnet and your values towards money either conscious or unconscious is another magnet. As you know if the magnets aren’t in harmony to one another they either repel or attract.
If you’re internal values and what you want are in conflict then it’s not going to put out the proper polarity to attract that money. You may want to be successful but if you belief that absolute power corrupts absolutely then you will never put out the right polarity to attract the money you want.
For instance, one of the most powerful men that has ever lived if not the most powerful man, Mahatma Gandhi (please forgive me if I am referring to the wrong person) gathered millions of people to rise up and gain independence for India from British Rule. He did not use gun or force but he got an entire nation to come together for a single cause, not even Hitler has this kind of power. Was Gandhi corrupted with this power, or did he use his power for good?
It’s time we did some introspection and ask ourselves what negative thoughts we have towards money. Ask yourself these three questions:
- What negative beliefs about money my parents taught me while growing up?
- What negative beliefs about money society has suggested while growing up?
- What are my negative beliefs about money?
Give yourself two minute for each question, no more.
Once you have these answers, allow yourself to feel them, but don’t fight them just let them float away. Clearing these old misleading values will create a vacuum which must be filled by new positive values about money.
For example here was one of my old values:
Old Negative Belief about money People with money are means, stingy and greedy and if that is what it means to be rich, then I want no part of it.
Positive New Belief about money I was raised with the values of being kind, caring, sharing and loving towards others. These values are much stronger than being mean, stingy and greedy.
Dig real deep and find out what your money myths are about acquiring wealth and remember it’s the man that makes the money and not the money that makes the man. |
